Knight Optical's Polarizers for Head-Mounted Displays (HMDs)

We frequently supply Polarisers for HMD applications within the gaming, aviation, automobile, engineering and medical industries. Known for their capability to accurately align light on to a plane and reduce scattering, Polarisers help to avoid any visual obstructions within a user’s line of sight, providing crystal-clear, well-defined image displays.

Thanks to their ability to filter out unpolarised light and transform undefined or mixed polarisation light into a well-defined polarised beam, our Polarisers enable reflections and glare to be dramatically reduced whilst increasing colour saturation.

Here at Knight Optical, we hold stock of an extensive range of premium Polarisers suitable for HMD applications; covering wavebands from 2µm. Alternatively, for projects requiring a tailored approach, we also provide custom-made Polarisers made to your exact specifications.

Our Polariser offering includes Linear Sheet and Circular Polarisers for applications operating within the visible, ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) ranges. We have an abundance of formats available; such as HN32, HN38 and HN42. What’s more, we also supply high-performance materials like HN38S for visible use and a UV and IR range of HNP’B replacement materials – which is highly efficient at 290nm.

Additionally, we stock large sheets up to 1270 x 480mm; which in some cases, we are able to machine custom shapes at short notice. As well as mounting options, we also provide special glass laminating for CAB Polarisers and Anti-Reflective (AR) coatings.

NB: Non-glare coatings are available for Circular Polarisers with the option of left- or right-handed polarisation. Plus, we can also offer acrylic or glass laminations.
