High laser damaged threshold Thin Film Polarizer from LASERTEC

LASERTEC  produce Thin Film Polariser (TFP) composed of a dielectric coating by IBS coating technology on a plane glass substrate, suitable for high power applications. 

One of TFP has a high damage threshold and produces the maximum extinction ratio upto 10000:1 at a single angle of incidence, the Brewster angle ±3°.

Another Thin film polariser applied at angle of incidence with 45°,   Producing a TFP at 45° does come at the cost of the extinction ratio, angle dependency and damage threshold, as well as the requirement for a rear surface anti-reflective coating.
