Application advantages of the taccor comb | |
05 Apr 2018 The taccor comb, a high-power frequency comb with 1GHz mode spacing, has 10x the spacing and over 100x the power per mode of 100MHz combs. The high repetition rate simplifies mode identification accessing individual modes. In dual-comb spectroscopy, employing a second laser achieves a high event rate without mechanical movement. The taccor comb is highly suited to both scientific and industrial applications due to its turn-key operation, long-term stability and low-maintenance requirements. The key benefits of the taccor comb are: · Turn-key laser in a hermetically sealed enclosure · Unique 1 GHz mode spacing · Integrated f-2f interferometer module for long term stable operation · Additional spectral broadening · Up to 1 W of useable average power at 800 nm Laser Quantum’s taccor comb provides a long-term stable electrical output signal at the carrier-envelope offset (CEO) frequency, with at least 35 dB signal-to-noise ratio in 100 kHz bandwidth, phase-locked to an RF reference with electronics from our partner Menlo Systems. Precise locking of the mode spacing is accomplished using the TL-1000 repetition rate stabilisation unit. The taccor comb offers numerous benefits in metrology, optical clocks and the search for exoplanets amongst other applications. The large comb spacing of 1 GHz allows easy determination of the comb mode index, the power per frequency comb tooth is approximately 100 times higher than that of a conventional 100 MHz laser and the laser has a remarkably small footprint, making it easy to fit into a variety of set-ups.
