Broadband Variable Laser Beam Attenuators

25 May 2017

EKSMA Optics has introduced new broadband attenuators designed for high energy femtosecond laser pulses. Variable attenuators / beamsplitters consist of precision opto-mechanics and high performance optical components, dividing laser beam into two parallel beams of adjustable intensity ratio.

Attenuators use two thin film polarizers operating at 70° angle of incidence, which reflect s-polarized light while transmitting p-polarized light. The angle of incidence can be adjusted by ±2° to achieve the maximum polarization contrast.

Broadband variable attenuators feature:

  • Continuous beam splitting over 750-850 or 980-1080 nm broadband wavelength ranges
  • High optical damage threshold - >50 mJ/cm2pulsed at 800 nm, 50 fsec, 50 Hz
  • Clear aperture diameter – 12 mm
  • Manual or motorized versions

Learn more about the range of EKSMA Optics variable attenuators for Nd host laser applications at 1040-1070 nm range or femtosecond applications with broadband Ti:Sapphire and Yb:KGW/KYW laser pulses.

Meet EKSMA Optics team at LASER World of PHOTONICS (Booth No. 403A, Hall B3) and discuss your particular laser application.
