Visit the NEW taccor comb at European Frequency and Time forum, York

18 Mar 2016

Laser Quantum launch a complete 1GHz mode spaced frequency comb!

Laser Quantum is exhibiting its NEW taccor comb at the European Frequency and Time Forum, 4-7 April, in York. This extension, to the already successful taccor range, provides significantly enhanced SNR for heterodyne beat measurements or direct frequency comb spectroscopy applications. The high repetition rate of the taccor family has always had benefits for frequency comb generation and now the taccor comb is being offered as a complete frequency comb solution. With an exceptional supercontinuum typ.1μW per mode, the taccor comb has easy access to VIS and NIR ranges, and is Laser Quantum’s first complete 1GHz frequency comb available to the market!

The comb comprises; a powerful 1GHz turn-key Ti:Sapphire laser and a matched dispersion compensation module, supercontinuum generation and ultra-stable f-to-2f interferometer all in a single sealed and ultra-stable housing. In partnership with Menlo Systems, the taccor comb is fully stabilised using the XPS800-E feedback loop electronics and provides an electrical output signal at the carrier-envelope offset (CEO) frequency with at least 40dB signal-to-noise ratio in 300kHz bandwidth. The taccor comb provides the ideal solution for customers who seek to have a comb source with easy access to the visible and NIR spectral range at a high mode power level in a sealed, plug and play architecture. The high repetition rate of 1GHz leads to a large mode spacing and high power per mode on the order of typically 1μW after broadening. In addition, the comb offers high repetition rates enabling generation of significantly more supercontinuum average power in a PCF compared to systems at 100MHz (100x more) or 250MHz (16x more) before significant nonlinear coherence loss is suffered. This leads to a significantly enhanced SNR for heterodyne beat measurements or direct frequency comb spectroscopy applications. The taccor comb will offer numerous benefits to metrology, optical clock precision and searching for exoplanets with a remarkably small footprint to fit into your work spaces.
