Easy double pass wavefront measurement with Phasics illumination unit

05 Feb 2016

RCube compact illumination unit makes fast and easy double-pass set-up with Phasics high resolution wavefront sensors. It applies to mirror and lens testing of any diameter.

RCube simply plugs to Phasics wavefront sensor. It delivers a high accuracy collimated or diverging beam. The whole set-up is insensitive to vibration and has a small footprint so it easily integrates in various experiments. It fits in-line measurement in complex optical systems such as a high power laser chain.  For even more versatility, RCube is a separate add-on so the wavefront sensor can be independently used in other single pass set-up.

RCube is designed to match Phasics wavefront sensor capabilities. It allows benefiting from all Phasics patented technology advantages: high spatial resolution (up to 120 000 phase pixels), high accuracy (below 2 nm), high dynamics.  Thus the combination of RCube and Phasics wavefront sensor ensures very accurate and repeatable measurement.

Wavefront acquisition and analysis are achieved through Phasics software package. Measured aberrations can be subtracted to further wavefront measurements so as to eliminate their effects on the final result. This enables calibrating the telescope in an adaptive optics diagnostic beamline or a lens testing bench. Such process is automatically managed by Phasics software packages.

VERSATILE APPLICATIONS

  • Characterize concave and flat mirrors
  • Characterize lens, assembly and telescope in double pass, even for large diameter
  • Automatically subtract the wavefront deformation due to optics in an optical set-up such as the adaptive optics analysis beamline
  • At wavelengths from 635 nm to 1650 nm

EASE of USE

  • Easy plug on to Phasics wavefront sensor (visible or SWIR range)
    • Separate add-on from the wavefront sensor that can be used independently
  • Small footprint
  • Insensitive to vibrations
  • Compatible with translation and tip/tilt stages for alignment
  • Compatible with Phasics software packages
    • Automated subtraction of the measured aberrations
    • Access to modules for alignment and results analysis (Zernike coefficients,…)

ACCURATE MEASUREMENT

  • Beam quality: 20nm RMS (635-808 nm) and 30nm RMS (1064-1650 nm)
  • Phase resolution < 2nm RMS

Phasics will be pleased to present this solution in more details to you at the upcoming SPIE Photonics West exhibition. Feel free to visit us on the booth # 1123 –I or to contact us at contact@phasics.fr to schedule a meeting.
