Absorbing coating - CILAS

20 Aug 2015

An alternative to the common black coatings (such as adonization and black paints) is now proposed by CILAS with totally non-outgassing inorganic materials, to deal with straylight issues in optical systems.

CILAS has developed a wide range of black absorbing coatings produced under vacuum with magnetron sputtering technology, for near-UV to near-IR applications.

CILAS black absorbing coatings can be applied on various types of substrates (glass, metallic, composite materials, …) with size up to 2mx2m.

Such coatings offer very low hemispherical reflectance and no transmittance at requested spectral range, low weight and less than 1µm coating thickness.

They are qualified for space, astronomy and industrial applications, to meet the most severe environmental requirements.

Examples are diaphragms, telescope housing, baffles …

Designs are optimized upon request to reach unequalled performances.
