07 Apr 2015 Beam transport on high power laser chains requires the use of specific deformable mirrors to avoid the usual print-through effects of common technologies. CILAS has specifically developed the Monomorph deformable mirrors for this purpose. The increase of performances has rapidly convinced AWE, LULI, LOA or HZDR to equip their laser chains with this technology. The Monomorph product line is currently expanding, and CILAS will very soon offer larger apertures (>150 mm) and high LIDT dielectric coatings optimized for High Power Pulsed Lasers.
In addition, latest technological evolutions on this technology widen the range of applications from ground-based telescopes to spaceborne instrumentation:
- The significant rise of their frequency bandwidth correction (up to 1kHz) means they can ideally be used for astronomy telescopes and give a standard solution at an affordable price. CILAS has for instance recently equipped the 1-meter Swedish Solar Telescope (SST).
- Besides, CILAS currently develops, together with CNES and AIRBUS Defence and Space, a Monomorph deformable mirror for space environment that will be full-qualified in 2016.
At last, the pattern, spacing and number of actuators can be easily custom-made to optimize on request the correction and reach unmatched performances
