NEW Features in iFLEX-Gemini 2-in-1 Lasers

Qioptiq is proud to present new wavelengths and features in the iFLEX-Gemini™ dual wavelength laser series at Photonics West 2015, San Francisco, on 10th – 12th February 2015.

The iFLEX-Gemini 2-in-1 laser range has been expanded to include the new wavelength pair 488/561nm. This new wavelength pair is ideal for fluorescence applications including microscopy, flow cytometry, cell biology and opto-genetics.

Each wavelength in the iFLEX-Gemini laser engine may be independently controlled, which means the wavelengths may be turned On/Off in any sequence. Diode wavelengths can be directly modulated and the output power may be adjusted. Each wavelength may be controlled by using the laser PIN outs or by software using the new USB controls or through the CDRH compliant interlock remote unit. These three control options provide greater flexibility for connection and synchronisation with other devices such as detectors or event triggers.

The iFLEX-Gemini is a popular solid-state replacement for bulky, multi-line argon and argon krypton gas lasers. The updated iFLEX-Gemini is even smaller with dimensions of only 130mm (L) x 90mm (W) x 39mm (H), so it will easily retrofit into the space used by a multi-line argon laser. The standard wavelength pair offering is now: 405/445nm, 405/488nm, 405/640nm, 445/515nm, 488/515nm, 488/561nm and 488/640nm. Please contact us for any wavelength pairs not listed as standard.

 For easy connection to microscopes and other instruments, the iFLEX-Gemini can be supplied with a single mode fiber delivery system that has either; a connector output (flat polish or angle polish versions) or a collimated output beam. A mechanical shutter is located at the beam exit, and before the fiber output, for laser safety.

 Traditional argon gas lasers require external modulation for fast On/Off. Laser users can greatly simplify their designs by using one iFLEX-Gemini system instead of a gas laser plus an external modulator and driver. For increased ease of use, the new edition iFLEX-Gemini is fitted with a USB interface as standard. This will be demonstrated at our booth during Photonics West 2015.
