New industrial design EL-10-30-C | |
11 Jun 2014 Zurich, June 10, 2014- Optotune's most popular lens and driver are now available in a robust industrial design. While the optical and electrical specifications remain unchanged, the new EL-10-30-C features a self-locking Hirose connector, and the matching Lens Driver 4i comes in a rugged steel housing. In addition, optical calibration data is stored on the new EL-10-30-C lenses. While the focal power obtained at a certain current and temperature is very reproducible for a given lens, there is a variation of up to +/- 10% from lens to lens due to manufacturing tolerances. In consequence, the focal power vs. current characteristics of each lens are measured after production and stored in the EEPROM of the temperature sensor in the EL-10-30-C for open loop control. By reading the calibration data and temperature from the lens, Optotune's Lens Direct 4i can calculate what current must be applied to the lens to reach a target focal power. Instead of setting a current, the focal power can now also be set directly in diopters with a typical accuracy of 0.1 diopters. About Optotune Optotune, Inc, develos and manufactures adaptive optical components based on elastic polymers. Optotune's focus-tunable lenses speckle reducers offer new solutions for several industries including mobile phone cameras, machine vision, laser processing, medical technology and laser projection.
