The new SpotOn Mobile offered by Duma Optronics, model SPOTMOB-N

The new SpotOn Mobile offered by Duma Optronics, model SPOTMOB-N, is a fusion between our compact laser beam sensor head and the compact Nexsus7 PC Tablet, resulting in a top of the line versatile positioning and power laser beam measurement system.

Applications include; measuring CW laser power and centration or displacement, aligning laser beams, QC of optical systems, measuring target rotation and displacement, calibrating surface flatness, machine tool alignment and monitoring vibration.

The software application for the Nexsus7 PC Tablet is a convenient easy to use touch screen app. It includes;

• An Average function that averages measurements over a specified number of points.
• Digital Filter setting that specifies the measuring bandwidth.
• A Null function that subtracts ambient light.
• Track log file with the possibility for direct Excel format data logging.
• A Trace function that shows on the display a trace of the position over time.
• Filter selection and/or SAM3 beam sampler selection, for corrected power measurement.

The display shows real time power and position of an incoming laser beam.

Duma’s compact laser power and position sensor has built-in electronics in the measuring head eliminating the need for an external manifold box. The sensor head measures position over an area of up to 9mmX9mm and power from 1µW to 2.5mW @633nm (without filters). The sensor head is available with a dual axis Lateral Effect detector with resolution down to 1µm @ 50Hz digital filter setting, with absolute accuracy of ±6µm and spectral operation range of 350-1100nm.

The sensor head supports optional add-on accessories; ND attuning filters NG4,NG9,NG10 for power up to 10mW, SAM3-HP beam sampler for high power lasers (1/100000 sampling without distortion) and a 55mm long Hood for ambient light suppression.

The system has a convenient automatic gain control, 24 bit A/D and operation time of up to 5 hours on the device’s battery alone.
