Industrial Picosecond Laser for Advanced Micromachining

The HYLASE industrial picosecond laser from Fianium combines the reliability and low maintenance of an all fiber oscillator with an efficient, state of the art, flexible, amplifier platform. The compact and modular MOPA technology allows for a range of laser parameters on the same system platform.

HYLASE systems consist of two models, with sub-20 picosecond pulse duration and specified power (maximum pulse energy) of 8W (50uJ) and 25W (125uJ).

With built-in optical modulators, HYLASE offers flexible pulse repetition rate up to 40MHz and burst-mode operation for advanced process development. Both models have optional integral harmonic generation with up to 50% conversion in the green.

HYLASE provides excellent beam quality at all repetition rates due to the MOPA architecture and has a compact 6U, 19” rack-mounted controller. The ultra-compact laser head allows for simple, flexible system integration.

The multi-megawatt peak power, high average power, and short pulsewidth delivered by HYLASE make it ideally suited for high throughput processing of the most demanding materials, including transparent glasses, sapphire and complex multilayered materials and thin films, with no heat affected damage.

Demonstration of the benefits of picosecond processing,or detailed process development characterization is available on customer materials in the Fianium applications facility in Portland Oregon.
