04 Jul 2013 Excelitas has just announced a new high power surface mount laser diode family which produces very high power optical pulses centred at a wavelength of 905 nm, and can emit light parallel or perpendicular to the mounting plane.
The multi-layer monolithic design produces three emitting active areas which emit on average 70 W of peak optical output power when operated at 30A.
Key Features include multi cavity lasers, quantum well structure and high peak pulsed power into aperture. The laser has excellent power stability with temperature and is RoHS compliant. This laser diode is mounted on a leadless laminate carrier (LLC) with excellent thermal management.
This new diode is highly complemented to the Excelitas range of surface mount APDs - the C30737 series APDs - for range finding among other applications. Excelitas now provide a complete surface mount solution for both the emitter and detector, compatible with high throughput pick and place equipment.
