26 Mar 2013 LASER COMPONENTS is proud to offer the SiTek range of two-dimensional position sensing detectors (PSDs), which give high accuracy (±0.3% typical non-linearity) readings over areas up to 45mm x 45mm. These detectors are also available with UV- or YAG enhancement or as nuclear detectors. PSDs have the advantage of higher resolution and speed when compared to CMOS detectors and CCD devices.
These SiTek devices have an edge over competition due to their built-in stray light elimination properties, which increase the speed and linearity and reduce erroneous readings.
These devices used in conjunction with a PSD electronic evaluation board provide an easy to connect and easy to use system that is ready to be used as a stand-alone detector or to be incorporated into larger systems.
Common applications of two-dimensional position sensing detectors include distance and height measurement, position alignment, motion measurement and vibration studies.
Using suitable lasers a 100m line of sight measuring system can produce a measurement accuracy of 25µm.
