19 Jul 2012 LASER COMPONENTS are pleased to announce a new UV Gain Flattening Filter from manufacturer Omega Optical, for whom we act as a UK distributor.
In addition to the many filters on offer, this new filter is designed to help prevent the excessive system sensitivity in the red region (600nm-1000nm), commonly found with silicon based detectors. The UV gain flattening filter is ideal for applications where a red-biased light source is used or the system predominantly works below 400nm; thus allowing for a near uniform spectrum to be achieved from the visible into the UV A, B and C regions.
The new filters are able to transmit almost 50% of the prominent UV A, B and C regions whilst still achieving an average attenuation of OD5. Additionally, OD1 is observed at 220nm and 320nm; climbing to OD4 by just 450nm.
