16 May 2012 Leading the industry in compact, high performance pump sources for Ti: Sapphire oscillators, Laser Quantum’s opus provides up to 6W of stable, low-noise 532nm pump power, with a laser head that takes up just 30 square inches of space on your optical table; less than 1/3 of the space required for many similar sources.
Borne out of an aerospace design, the opus can withstand extreme shock, vibration and background temperature variation. At typical room temperatures, the opus requires little to no active cooling. Where the background temperature is high, the waste water from the Ti: Sapphire oscillator’s chiller unit is more than sufficient to cool the opus.
The opus has become the default laser for many Ti: Sapphire oscillator manufacturers due to its attractive pricing, consistent performance and long lifetime, resulting in part from the >40,000 hour diode MTTF. Using Laser Quantum’s RemoteCal and RemoteVu software, the opus can be remotely controlled, diagnosed and even performance optimised by Laser Quantum service engineers via the internet.
