18 May 2012 ILX Lightwave, a Newport Corporation brand, introduces the LRS-9580 Calibration System. The new system is a complete, self-contained transportable unit capable of calibrating fixtures, shelves, and measurement electronics for the LRS-9550 High Power Test Laser Diode Test System for Single Emitters. The calibration system will enable LRS-9550 customers to easily calibrate their systems on-site, improving their up-time and increasing their productivity.
The LRS-9580 provides the ability to calibrate and or verify the following aspects of the LRS-9550: fixture temperature sensor measurement accuracy, laser diode voltage measurement accuracy, fixture trace resistance, optical power measurement accuracy (requires characterized laser source – not included), current set point accuracy, control measurement modules (CMM), temperature measurement accuracy, and self calibration of internal current sense resistors.
ILX Lightwave’s LRS-9580 Calibration System includes ReliaCal System Software which unifies the process of system calibration by providing a single source for all calibration functions. All calibrations are managed from an easy-to-use home screen. The interface allows the user to quickly and effortlessly configure and perform multiple calibrations, prompting the user with simple, graphical instructions. ReliaCal supports concurrent calibrations, allowing up to eight fixtures and one CMM to be calibrated simultaneously.
