18 Mar 2012 In ordinary laser system, the privilege level on power control is limited by the system. Most of the time user may face limitation in further power control. To solve this issue, Wavelength Technology provides Laser Attenuator series ( ATT) as a solution for controlling the power transmission.
Our ATT module is compact and stable while laser is in operating mode. It consists of two plates which can be tilted to vary the transmission.
The beam is displaced with respect to the optical axis of attenuator-plate. A compensator plate with same thickness is added behind the attenuator plate to rectify the beam path.
Upon rotating the knob, both plates are tilted simultaneously with respect to each other so that beam displacement is eliminated. The reflected light from the attenuator plate will be absorbed within the attenuator housing with proper heat sink design.
The input beam has to be collimated and typically it is the first optical component within the beam delivery system. This ATT is suitable for average power below 150W. Above this power level, water cooled version of laser attenuator is available. Motorized ATT is also available upon request.
