24 Mar 2012 To cater for different need of spot size, Wavelength Technology has innovated laser cutting head with switchable focal length* feature. A drawer type of slot holders is designed for exchanging different focusing lenses. Operator just needs to take out the existing focusing lens and replaces with another focusing lens in the other designated drawer slot. The position of lens has been calculated base on the focal length such that the focal points remain at the same position of working plane. User would be able to cut different thickness of material by just using our switchable FL cutting head (SCH). This function no doubt provides convenience in operation yet promoting cost saving.
Heat sink mechanism also been considered to extend the lifespan of optics especially using high power laser. It is either cool down by water or air to evacuate the heat dissipation during the cutting process. This SCH is recommended for CO2 cutting machine. Short FL is suitable for cutting thin metal sheet while long FL is for thick metal slab cutting. The precise guideway and concentricity of the entire optical path is maintained at +/-0.1mm after adjusting the height. Gas jet is divided into Nozzles and Jet port. The nozzles can be easily changed with screw. Apart from that, the jet position is available for adjustment in X/Y and Z (height) directions.
Similar cutting head for Nd: YAG laser is available upon request.
* Focal length of lens is fixed and specified by the position of slot drawer. For instance, upper slot belongs to 2” FL, lower slot belongs to 1” FL.
