28 Feb 2012 FEMTO’s logarithmic wideband voltage amplifier HLVA-100 has a wide dynamic range of 0dB to 80dB, with DC coupled input and a fast rise/fall time of 5ns for a 40dB step. The noise for the device is incredibly low considering the performance at just 2nV/Hz1/2. This makes the amplifier ideally suited for applications where accuracy is required for both low voltage signals and high voltage signals within a few ns timescale. The input can be scaled via a switch for +/-20µV… +/-200mV and +/-200µV… +/-2V. Two trimpots can be used for baseline correction and measurement optimisation. The amplifier is supplied as a compact EM-shielded module with BNC connectors on the input and output. All functions can be controlled locally or externally via a remote interface. Applications include power loss measurements of electronic equipment, particle detection and as an alternative to linear voltage amplifiers for improved accuracy.
