06 Jan 2012 FAC lenses are made with the aspheric front curves of plus lenses flatten as they approach the edge of the lens and the curves of minus lenses steepen near the edge. This creates a flatter, thinner and lighter lenses, and a remarkable improvement in wearing comfort.
The unique aspheric surface design in combination with the low base curve minimizes distortion at the edge of the lens, providing exceptionally clear vision and better cosmetics. Aspheric lenses provide a more natural look because the lenses sit closer to the eye (the result of their flatter curves). This produces less magnification for plus lenses and less of the "small eyes" look associated with strong minus lenses.
