04 Nov 2011 Precision Glass & Optics (PG&O® -www.pgo.com), global experts in optical manufacturing, glass fabrication, and precision thin film coatings, announces the exclusive West Coast distributorship agreement with SCHOTT North America, Inc. for their new SCHOTT SUPREMAX® 33 rolled sheet borosilicate glass. The new product has an identical composition as SCHOTT’s popular Borofloat® glass. The key advantages to the SUPREMAX 33 brand are that it is a rolled glass and it is offered in a wide variety of thicknesses (from 28.6 mm or 1 1/8 inches, up to 66.70 mm or 2 5/8 inches) for extensive applications.
PG&O’s manufacturing capabilities include customized glass fabrication and precision optical coating services on any thickness of the SCHOTT SUPREMAX 33. The physical and chemical properties of this revolutionary, rolled borosilicate glass include low thermal expansion, high thermal resistance, excellent light transmission, and superior chemical durability. The versatile, low-density glass is 12 percent lighter than soda lime glass, making this particularly useful for applications where weight is a critical factor. Made of non-hazardous raw materials, the SCHOTT SUPREMAX 33 can be recycled several times and easily disposed of properly.
Precision Glass & Optics has an extremely large inventory of glass products and fabrication services, including advanced optical coatings, manufacturing large mirror blanks, CNC machining, polishing, slicing, sawing, scribing, grinding, edging, assembly, and more. PG&O provides high performance optical components, thin film coatings, and turnkey solutions for extremely demanding tasks for digital cinema, imaging, biomedical, military, aerospace, astronomy, broadcast, solar applications, and more.
