19 Aug 2011 LightTools 7.2, now available from Synopsys, delivers features that help users graphically analyze simulation results, compute important metrics when designing for the lighting industry and iteratively design with CAD software. The interactive charting capability has a new look and additional features that allow users to customize charts to meet personal, company or industry standards. Simulation output now includes beam statistics to provide lighting designers with access to beam and field width information for analysis and optimization. The CAD file element links LightTools entities to files from CAD software, allowing users to update geometry on demand without losing optical properties, names or relations with other elements of the LightTools model.
