25 May 2011 Effective immediately, you can choose between all state-of-the-art coatings for your laser optics at LASER COMPONENTS. Our ion beam sputtering (IBS) coater has just been commissioned.
FOR SUPERIOR MATERIALS
Coatings that are produced through IBS feature compact and drift-free layers that are insensitive to variations in temperature. In addition, these coatings are “cold coatings,” that is they are applied at low temperatures. This cold application makes it possible to apply coatings to temperature-sensitive materials such as, for example, laser crystals.
FOR SPECIAL APPLICATIONS
The layers produced through IBS feature very little scattering loss and are highly stable. The highest possible reflection values of R > 99.99% can be achieved, which are required in laser gyroscopes.
SPECIAL ADVANTAGES AT LASER COMPONENTS
In the IBS coater installed at LASER COMPONENTS the refractive indices can be varied during operation. This makes it possible to manufacture novel coatings and achieve, in particular, very high damage thresholds.
PRODUCTS WITH IBS COATINGS
• Drift-free layers
• Cold coatings on temperature-sensitive materials
• Coatings with little scattering loss and extremely high reflection rates of R > 99.99%
• Coatings with varying indices of refraction (so-called mixed layers) for very high damage thresholds
• Dichroic mirrors with wide transmission bands that have a consistently high transmission
• Chirped mirrors for fs applications
• Broadband mirror and anti-reflection coatings
• Narrow-banded coatings for filters suitable for high-power applications
