23 Mar 2011 B&W Tek, Inc, an advanced instrumentation company producing optical spectroscopy and laser systems announces the Cypher™ H, a high performance linear PDA spectrometer. The Cypher™ H is equipped with a 512 or 1024 element linear photodiode array (PDA) detector, a high throughput spectrograph featuring an aberration corrected concave holographic grating, 16-bit digitizer, and a SMA 905 fiber optic input.
The Cypher™ H’s PDA detector offers high dynamic range, high signal-to-noise ratio, enhanced UV and NIR sensitivity and an extremely linear signal response. This makes the Cypher™ H ideal for detecting small changes in strong signals that would normally be undetectable using CCD detector technology. In addition, the concave holographic grating produces a smooth spectral distribution with very low stray light, providing excellent signal to noise in the UV. By coupling the high performance detector and holographic grating, the Cypher™ H is capable of detecting photons as short as 185nm.
