06 May 2010 THz super lenses and tunable THz wave generator PhotonTec Berlin distributes the Terahertz Super Lens Tsurupica and source GO-EMON from PAX, Inc. under patent of RIKEN, Japan in European region.
Tsurupica has higher transmission than conventional material such as Polyethylene at both THz and visible wavelength, so that the THz can be traced by a He-Ne laser. In addition, it has lower absorption at 2.2THz than Polyethylene does, and is also suitalbe as window of cryostat or bolometer.
GO-EMON is the world smallest tunable THz wave generator based on the nonlinear frequency conversion in a ring cavity. The generator is pumped by an external pump laser (Nd:YAG) and achieves a narrow band with of 30-50GHz at THz range.
