08 Mar 2010 Omicron, renowned for innovation and customised solutions in the field of laser technology, has launched the new PhoxX® Compact High Performance Diode Lasers. The PhoxX Series offers fast direct digital modulation up to 200 MHz and analogue power modulation of more than 3 MHz. The PhoxX diode lasers have intelligent laser electronics with RS-232 and USB 2.0 interfaces that permit easy interaction with the application. Furthermore, by using innovative Omicron optics, astigmatism is corrected so that the beam has a diameter of around 1.2mm or optionally 0.7mm and the focus is absolutely circular. The lasers are available in single-mode operation with an optical output power of up to 140mW in the 375-830nm wavelength range.
The new product family has to be the first choice for biotechnology applications. This is because PhoxX provides a very compact light source that can be directly modulated at e.g. 488nm /60mW, favoured by biotechnologists. |
