21 Oct 2009 HORIBA has announced the construction of a new research facility on the campus of Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, France. It is to open in late 2011 and will build on the strengths of HORIBA Jobin Yvon. The new Centre will give HORIBA unparalleled access to a pool of innovative technologies, resources & personnel from academic, government, & commercial research centres. Additionally, the new facility will serve as the headquarters of HORIBA Europe Holding SAS, the recently created organisation integrating all HORIBA activities in France, Germany, UK, Italy, Spain, & other European locations. The Centre will be part of the PARIS Saclay cluster, a new education, research & business innovation hub comparable to Silicon Valley in the US or Cambridge in the UK. The cluster will incorporate campuses of leading universities, many government labs for energy, IT, nanotechnology, & more; & R&D centres for multiple large multinational companies. This represents 8% of European Union R&D spending. |
