Pro-Lite Announces the Future of Colorimetry – the ColorBUG Colorimeter

30 Sep 2009

The Ocean Optics ColorBUG is a novel colorimeter which measures the illuminance and colour of a light source then beams the data via wireless transmitter to an iPhone or iPod Touch.

The ColorBUG is an ingenious, handheld wireless device for testing the colour and illuminance in theatrical studio and architectural applications. ColorBUG is the pocket-sized marvel no bigger than a typical mobile phone that works wirelessly with iPhone and iPod Touch to determine CIE chromaticity and illuminance values easily and quickly. ColorBUG is supplied with an exclusive software application for the iPhone or iPod Touch. Illuminance is measured in the range from 0.1 to 15,000 lux, while light source colour is reported in CIE x and CIE y (1931) chromaticity coordinates and correlated colour temperature. ColorBUG is equipped with a built-in lithium ion battery which charges through a mini USB interface. The wireless interface is 802.11 a/b/g compatible
