Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCL) emitting from 4 to 17 micro-meters

11 Mar 2009

Alpes Lasers specialises in fabricating devices specifically optimised for optical spectroscopy applications. Most of the attainable spectrum is covered by our range of off stock lasers.

This range is available within two weeks. If a specific laser is not available, it can be manufactured to order. The exhibited powers ranges between 1 and 100 mW. The line-width for pulsed devices is in the order of 300 MHz, which is compatible with atmospheric pressure broadened lines. The line-width can attain values as low as a few MHz for CW devices which facilitates low pressure gas lines absorption measurement. The narrowest observed line of a stabilised QCL was less then 6 Hz wide. Various packages are available, from extra-small footprint TO-8 for extremely low duty cycle operation to medium footprint TO-3 for all type of pulsed operation including DC-bias electrical frequency tuning or high duty cycle pulsed operation and to High Heat Load (HHL) packages for CW operation.
