850 nm SM VCSELs - Now Also Available in an SMT Housing

In applications like the computer mouse, the SM VCSEL laser diode supersedes to a large extent the LED due to its technical advantages.

Consequently, ULM Photonics now offers an 850 nm SM VCSEL diode in a P-LCC-2 housing, which is common with LEDs. This laser exhibits the familiar characteristics of the SM VCSEL: * Low energy consumption * Gaussian-shaped beam * No mode hops The component with the designation ULM855-G2-TN-SSMDTL has a typical output power of 0.5 mW.
