The IR-50 Series infrared emitters from Scitec Instruments Polska use a very low thermal mass diamond-like carbon thin film element. Its low thermal mass allows the source to be pulsed at frequencies up to 100 Hz with good modulation depth, or contrast between on and off states. It can be used with quantum detectors such as photoconductive PbS and PbSe, which would otherwise require a chopper to avoid excess low frequency (1/f) noise. |
