02 Dec 2008 PPC offers high-energy ion-beam-sputtered (IBS) mirrors and coatings. Custom mirrors are available on flat and curved substrates on stress-compensated mirrors for λ/10 surface flatness after-coating. Precision Photonics uses only ion-beam-sputtered coatings because IBS coatings are significantly more dense, durable, and rugged than conventional coatings. Compared to other coatings, IBS coatings also offer lower scatter and absorption losses and fewer pin-hole defects in the coated surface. This superior film quality and uniformity results in environmentally stable optics with laser damage thresholds of >40J at 1064nm.
Super broadband mirrors are ideal for beam-steering applications using both the fundamental laser wavelength and one or more harmonics within the same beam path. Because it is an all-dielectric design, they can handle the high laser powers of both CW and pulsed systems, without limiting the useful angle of incidence or sensitivity to varying states of polarization.
