SANYO’s new laser modules get green light from Photonic Products

31 Jan 2008

Photonic Products, the UK opto-electronics device manufacturer and laser diode specialist, has introduced two new 532nm DPSS high visibility green laser modules from SANYO; the DLX-9356-13 (532nm, 5mW) and the DLX-9456-02 (532nm, 10mW).

The modules, measuring just 20mm diameter by 50.5mm, have integral thermo electric control that enables stable operation over a wide range of temperature levels between -10 degrees Centigrade to + 50 degrees Centigrade. This stability, plus optical noise below 1.5 %, provides the constant optical performance and wavelength precision necessary for demanding industrial and laboratory applications such as laser marking and levelling, patient alignment, bio-analysis and flow cytometry where high visibility is also a necessity. The DPSS (diode pumped solid state) green laser modules, with a lasing wavelength of 532nm, offer a high quality (M² <1.2), collimated beam with a uniform Gaussian profile. The output beam is approximately 2.7mm diameter at a 5 metre working distance. The modules provide optical output power of 5mW (DLX-9356-13) or 10mW (DLX-9456-02), typical operating voltage of 3V DC, operating current of 400mA maximum and operating temperature from -10 degrees to + 50 degrees Centigrade. Compact, efficient and highly reliable, these SANYO green laser modules offer a level of performance normally found only in much higher priced devices. ABOUT Photonic Products Ltd (www.photonic-products.com) Photonic Products is a UK based, ISO9001:2000 certified manufacturer of custom designed laser diode modules and assemblies and an authorised distributor of high performance, premium quality industrial laser diodes and LEDs manufactured by Sanyo, Opnext (formerly Hitachi) and Sony, and precision optical lenses from Panasonic to OEMs in the industrial, medical, scientific and defence markets. Photonic Products was established in 1995 and has operations in the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany. The company has twice been honoured with a Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade. It is a StockerYale (NASDAQ: STKR) company. About SANYO SANYO currently markets AlGaAs infrared laser diodes in the 780 - 830 nm wavelength, as well as AlGaInP based red laser diodes in the 635 - 675 nm wavelength. SANYO achieved the world’s first 635 nm AlGaInP laser diode. The low operating current and high operating temperature are realised by using misoriented substrate and MQW (Strain compensated) active layer. With unique structures developed by SANYO, these laser diodes are highly rated in a broad range of applications including compact discs, CD-R/RW, DVD systems, bar code scanners, laser pointers and printers. The Photonics Business Division of Tottori SANYO Electric Co., Ltd takes pride in providing its customers with the highest quality Laser Diode and LED products possible. All Laser Diode and LED products are ISO 9001 compliant in accordance with IECQ (IEC Quality Assessment for Electronic Components). SANYO is committed to providing new solutions by employing its proprietary technologies in creative ways, based on its Brand Vision 'Think GAIA'. The Photonics Business Division of Tottori SANYO Electric Co., Ltd has ISO 14001 Environmental Management System approval for the development, design, manufacture and sales of optoelectronic devices. All SANYO laser diodes comply with RoHS Directive.
