30 Nov 2007 TECHSPEC® Precision Aspheric Lenses are manufactured using precision of state-of-the-art grinding and polishing equipment. With the available prescription data, these lenses can be easily designed and integrated into complex optical systems. Featuring low f/#’s for optimum light gathering and focusing performance, these lenses are computer optimized to eliminate spherical and minimize higher order aberrations. VIS coating option provides <1.5% reflection from 425-675nm, whereas NIR coating provides <1.5% reflection from 600-1050nm. TECHSPEC® Precision Aspheric Lenses are available in both L-BAL35 and Fused Silica substrates.
TECHSPEC® Precision Aspheric Lenses are designed and manufactured by Edmund Optics® in their state-of-the-art environmentally controlled aspheric manufacturing cell which houses advanced aspheric grinding and polishing capability coupled with MRF finishing technology. This capability allows EO to produce high departure aspheric geometries that can be manufactured rapidly and cost effectively in glass, ceramic or crystalline materials. World-class metrology platforms are integrated and networked into each machine to perform real time in process error correction dramatically reducing iterative, time consuming manufacturing steps.
