Abstract: A novel ceramic linear motor overcomes the travel / resolution / speed conundrum with a highly dynamic continuous sweep mode and travel ranges to 20 mm. The nonmagnetic, vacuum compatible design enables sub-nm resolution, very high stiffness, self locking with no heat generation and long travel ranges.
