27 Jun 2007 Quality management systems require periodical inspections of the physical units displayed by the measurement and test equipment. Sometimes, these procedures even need to be traceable back to certain international standards.
Particularly when used to determine laser output power, it is the specific responsibility of users to ensure that measurement and test equipment is recalibrated regularly.
At our in-house calibration laboratory we have a calibration service available for all Gentec-eo laser power meters on thermopile basis and all corresponding display units. This means a cost reduction and an advantage for customers timewise because units no longer have to be shipped to Canada. The typical turnaround time for a calibration at LASER COMPONENTS is less than five business days. For all European Gentec-eo customers, LASER COMPONENTS acts as a local calibration laboratory.
The calibration is based on American NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) calibration standards. The calibration wavelength is 1064 nm; the available calibration power levels range from 30 mW to 100 W.
In addition to the Gentec-eo products, bundles consisting of a power meter and a readout unit can be calibrated from any other manufacturer.
We recommend an inspection of your measurement equipment. Is the calibration still current? If not, inquire about a quotation from us today.
