07 Jun 2007 Radiantis (www.radiantis.com), the specialist supplier of tunable laser solutions, has introduced the OPIUM, a new synchronously-pumped Optical Parametric Oscillator that produces femtosecond, near-transform-limited pulses in the Visible and UV.
Based on patent pending technology, the OPIUM integrates a state-of-the-art frequency doubler inside so that tuning is provided in the Visible and UV, 350-700 nm, with a single system and set of optics.
A complete set of 4 separate output wavelength ranges is available:
i) Visible: 500 - 700 nm
ii) UV: 350 - 450 nm
iii) near-IR: 700 - 900 nm
iv) IR: 900 - 2.200 nm
which ensures the wavelength flexibility required for many scientific applications.
The OPIUM provides an elegant solution for spectroscopy applications that require widely tunable laser radiation and ultrashort pulse duration in the Visible and UV spectrum. The system is a powerful tool for scientists in some fields of biology, chemistry, material science and physics, where near-transform-limited pulses, high stability and wavelength flexibility are of crucial importance.
The system incorporates active wavelength stabilisation with an integrated spectrometer and microcontroller unit that ensure high stability and low sensitivity to temperature drifts.
Radiantis will exhibit the OPIUM at the upcoming Laser 2007 Exhibition from June 18th to 21st, in Münich, Germany. Booth number: B2.441.
