16 Mar 2007 Ibsen Photonics, a leading supplier of holographic Phase masks,
fused silica transmission gratings and optical spectrometer modules
based on transmission gratings... ...today announced it's release of a
new, extended wavelength version of it's PING gratings (Polarization
Independent telecom gratings.)
E-PING gratings will be produced on an OEM basis to specific customer
requirements, but with standard specifications E-PING gratings offer
>90% diffraction efficiency, <0.25 dB PDL and <0.25 dB WDL - just as
the current PING gratings. Uniquely, these specs are upheld over an
extended wavelength range of 1510 - 1596 nm.
Product Manager Kristian Buchwald explains: "Our PING gratings have
been rapidly embraced by WSS/ROADM manufacturers, due to both
performance and the inherent stability of our fused silica
transmission grating technology." He adds: "This development
exemplifies the strength of this technology in offering stable
performance over a broad bandwidth in addition to for example a
great tolerance to incidence angle."
Torben Jacobsen, President and CEO of Ibsen, comments: "In addition
to the exciting product development in itself, our high-resolution
spectrometer business is boosted by this unique grating - the E-PING
grating has immediately been put to use within Ibsen by being
incorporated into our extended wavelength I-MON FBG Sensor System
Interrogation Monitors."
Ibsen will be presenting its PING and I-MON products at the OFC
exhibition March 27-29th in Anaheim, as well as at other important
telecom and photonics conferences throughout the year.
About Ibsen Photonics
Ibsen Photonics is a leader in Phase masks and transmission
gratings for a wide range of telecom, sensing and laser markets.
The grating technology is leveraged in Ibsen's optical spectro-
meter modules for FBG sensor interrogation systems and telecom
DWDM networks.
Ibsen Photonics furthermore is pursuing partnerships in other
industries to expand their high-resolution spectrometer platform
based on Ibsen pure fused silica holographic diffraction gratings.
