06 Mar 2007 Fremont, California, Comcore Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of fiber optic products, today announced the general availability of Multimode Fiber High Power Combiners. Comcore's multimode fiber high power combiners can couple 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 multimode fiber inputs into a single multimode output. These fiber combiners can be useful components when coupling power from several multimode laser diodes to create a single, high power output source. This efficient, high-brightness source can be used directly for high-power diode laser applications in material processing and medical therapeutics. Alternatively, the output can be used to pump fiber lasers for applications in industrial, medical, and military markets, or to pump optical amplifiers and fiber lasers.
Comcore Technology is based on an unique process to make these combiners. Input fibers are matched to the pigtail fibers of customer laser diode sources. Normally, Input fibers are 100/125um multimode fibers with the numerical aperture of 0.15 or 0.22, and the output fiber is 100/125um multimode fiber with the numerical aperture of 0.46 or 200/230um with the numerical aperture of 0.22. And Comcore automated manufacturing process guarantees superior quality and a fast turnaround time for high volume manufacturing runs.
