22 Jan 2007 New photonic packaging services are now available including packaging of high power red laser diodes with multimode, single mode and polarisation maintaining fibre pigtails. Custom packaging of green, blue and near IR diodes is also available. The Photonic Packaging team at SIFAM has developed a variety of custom laser sources and fibre optic receivers. Strong customer interest has been shown in high power red laser diode products packaged with multimode (MM), single mode (SM) or polarisation maintaining (PM) fibre pigtails for dental photo-activated disinfection (PAD), medical photo-dynamic therapy (PDT) and industrial alignment applications. In addition, SIFAM have developed considerable new expertise in the custom packaging of green and blue laser diodes. For near infrared wavelengths there are also new laser and pin detector diodes in an industry standard ST receptacle package that are now being offered as a standard product.
SIFAM Fibre Optics Photonic Packaging unit provides a complete service undertaking projects at any stage in the design and development process: from outline sketch to contract manufacturing. As required, a concept can be transformed through design, packaging, testing and qualification to volume manufacturing at our UK purpose built ISO9001 qualified facility. The Photonic Packaging Business Unit can perform a wide range of operations including eutecic die attach, PM fibre coupling, hermetic sealing and everything in between. |
