Multipix Imaging announce the production of Basler's 30 new GigE Vision and GenICam compliant cameras.

28 Nov 2006

Gigabit Ethernet is fast becoming the new interface technology used in machine vision and in related industries like surveillance and medical imaging.

Breaking the current bandwidth barrier set by FireWire, switching to Gigabit Ethernet will now be attractive to a variety of customers, with advantages such as a frame grabber no longer required and up to 100 meter cable lengths. The Basler 'Scout' cameras are well positioned to accelerate the "analogue to digital" trend with their economical price and exceptional performance. Based primarily on the Sony CCD's the series ranges from VGA to 2Megapixel and is available in 1394b as well as GigEVision. A 25% increase in bandwidth (when compared to 1394b) makes GigE Vision the interface of choice when running these cameras in 12bit mode. The 'Pioneer' cameras are aimed at more demanding applications that require high frames and/or high resolution. Based on the Kodak KAI series the resolution ranges from VGA at 210fps to 5megapixel.
