16 Nov 2006 NY Photonics introduces the Electra Plus series USB2 Cooled camera series that can hold up till 2" X 2" sensors at a very reasonable price. The CCD chips offered are available in the highest grade for best performance till engineering grade for the best price.
The system cools down till > 50 degrees below ambient, with accuracy in the temperature settings of 0.05 deg C.
The full well depth per pixel can reach 500,000 electrons that enables true 16 bit images, giving a superior dynamic range. This feature is very important for digital X-ray imaging and other applications.
Each camera has various readout modes including:
- 1 Mpix/s @ 16 bit
- 2 Mpix/s @ 14 bit
- 4 Mpix/s @ 12 bit
