06 Nov 2006 The Right Connector for Each Glass Fibre Optical fibres with core diameters from 200 µm up to 1500 µm are used in many diverse industries, especially in sensor and medical technology. In addition to the large variety of OFS Fitel glass fibres available from LASER COMPONENTS, we can supply the compatible connector for each type of fibre. We have the correct connectors for the various fibre diameters of all current connector systems such as SMA, FC, ST, V-PIN and F07. LWL plugs with fibre guiding holes in 10 µm intervals can be purchased from LASER COMPONENTS.
Especially for coupling higher powers, an SMA plug with free-standing fibre is available. Since no adhesive is used in the vicinity of the area of the fibre face, damage to the connector due to improper coupling of the laser output power is prevented.
