21 Sep 2006 TE-cooled MCT in TO-8 packages provide performance within a factor of 3 to 10 of LN2-cooled devices at moderate frequencies in the 5 to 12 micron region. Photoconductive HgCdTe detectors free instrument designers from the use of LN2 or expensive closed cycle coolers in the 2 to 13 micron region. The Vigo PCI-2TE-series and PCI-3TE-series device include immersion lenses for noiseless gain and achieve sensitivity that is within a factor of 3 to 10 of LN2 cooled devices in the 20kHz to 100kHz region. At high frequencies (> 1 MHz), performance equals LN2 cooled devices. |
