Ultra High-Purity Rare Earth Chlorides

25 Oct 2006

New product line developed for optoelectronics research applications features 99.999+% pure rare earth chlorides in the hydrated form.

MV Laboratories Introduces 99.999+% Rare Earth Chlorides. FRENCHTOWN, NJ (August 23, 2006) - MV Laboratories, Inc., is pleased to introduce a new line of ultra high-purity rare earth chemicals that feature extremely low levels of iron and other undesirable transition metals such as chromium, manganese, cobalt, nickel and copper. Levels of silicon and calcium, typical impurities in most rare earths, are present at levels lower than usually found in commercial grade, high-purity rare earth chemicals. Developed primarily for optoelectronics research applications, the product line includes all fourteen rare earths (lanthanum chloride heptahydrate, cerium chloride heptahydrate, praseodymium chloride heptahydrate, neodymium chloride hydrate, samarium chloride hexahydrate, europium chloride hexahydrate, gadolinium chloride hexahydrate, terbium chloride hexahydrate, dysprosium chloride hexahydrate, holmium chloride hexahydrate, erbium chloride hexahydrate, thulium chloride hexahydrate, ytterbium chloride hexahydrate, and lutetium chloride hexahydrate, as well as the chloride of scandium and yttrium. Dr. Warren Miller, founder of MV Laboratories and its chief synthetic chemist said, "The extraction processes we have developed at MV Laboratories can also be used to purify additional rare earth elements, the alkali and alkaline earth metals, and many other elements. We anticipate expanding this product line as needs arise." MV Laboratories, Inc., founded in 1985, is a world leader in the manufacture of ultra high-purity inorganic chemicals for chemical analytics and synthesis, crystal growth, nanotechnology, specialty ceramics, and photonics research and development. The company manufactures and stocks more than 400 products, including the oxides, chlorides, fluorides, bromides, carbonates, nitrates, and sulfates of 70 elements.
