01 Dec 2006 Dithering Stages provide sub-nanometer resolution, millisecond responsiveness and low cost, ideal for OEMs. Auburn, MA - PI, a leading manufacturer of nanopositioning and piezo-based precision motion-control equipment for lifescience, photonics and semiconductor applications, offers the high-speed, low-cost P-713/P-714, XY-dithering stages for resolution enhancement and scanning applications.
These low-cost, piezo-driven stages feature a very high resonant frequency of 2.2 kHz for millisecond responsiveness.
Open loop (P-713) and closed loop (P-714) versions are available. Both versions very specifically designed for high-dynamics scanning and tracking tasks. The closed-loop version provides higher linearity, the open loop version costs less.
Integrated ultra-long life piezoelectric drives provide sub-nanometer resolution, important for high-resolution interlacing applications where the optical resolution of a CCD or CMOS sensor is increased by shifting it at high frequency between pixel positions.
The stages feature a very low profile of only 6 mm and can also be used in scanning microscopy applications or in static nanopositioning.
Application Examples
Resolution enhancement in imaging sensors; scanning microscopy; nanopositioning.
Features & Advantages - Award-winning ceramic-encapsulated piezoelectric actuators for longer lifetime
