05 Jul 2006 So-called protective windows are used as the last optic before the work area to protect high quality optics against material splatter while cutting, welding, and engraving. Here we are talking about inexpensive windows with a surface figure of 1 L and scratch-dig 60-40.
The protective windows are coated with an anti-reflex layer for the laser beam (in a YAG laser system the beam is usually 1064 nm). Upon request, an anti-reflection coating in the visible spectrum can also be applied for the pilot beam. The protective windows can be manufactured from BK 7 or quartz, depending on the power density of the laser.
LASER COMPONENTS offers protective windows for various well-known laser manufacturers. Two examples:
- AR/AR 1064 dia. 1.0" x 4 mm or
- AR/AR 1064 dia. 55 x 2 mm.
Other sizes can also be delivered on short notice.
In addition we offer a number of accessories and expendable items for use in laser systems:
- Conversion screens, to make infrared radiation visible,
- Cutting lenses made of ZnSe and copper mirrors for use in CO2 lasers, and
- Flash and arc lamps for lamp-pumped laser systems.
