Nonlinear pulse propagation made easy.

Fiberdesk is based on solving the nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation by the split-step Fourier transform method.

Its capability can be used to solve two coupled NLS equations including nonlinear effects of delayed Raman response, self phase modulation, self-steepening, XPM as well as loss/gain, gain saturation, birefringence and complex dispersion profiles. Features:

  • adaptive stepsize control, optimized processing speed
  • postprocessing of simulated data (movie creation etc.)
  • import of experimental data
  • full windows based control of data
  • ultrashort pulse laser simulations
  • regenerative amplifier simulations
