07 Apr 2006 EOS™ rivals incandescent sources in brightness while running cooler, exhibiting greater stability and lasting much, much longer. EOS also distinguishes itself by giving the user complete control of the source color.
Previous LED sources have been known for high efficiency (which translates into cooler operation), high stability, and excellent reliability. They have not however, been the brightest of sources and have suffered from limited color choices.
The new EOS™ source eliminates LED shortcomings while maintaining their advantages. It increases brightness by using fiber optics to pick up all the light the LED emits into the 2Pi steradian hemisphere in front of the diode junction and delivering it to the output beam. Previous sources collected part of that light, the rest being lost unproductively. By combining the light, from red, ble and green gives users unprecedented control of it's output color.
